Lunch - Plenary - Continuum - Is Abstinence Enough: Food, Money, Work and Sex

In this panel discussion, specialists in the arenas of food addiction, sex and love addiction, and career counseling will dive into issues surrounding, and in some cases causing, substance abuse.  Doctors and professionals will participate in a panel discussion highlighting issues that arise after treatment when a patient is abstinent from his or her preferred substance(s) for a period of time.    

Objectives:  Participants will be able to:

  1. Gain knowledge about co-occurring disorders and ways in which they manifest during and after substance use treatment
  2. Identify strategies for addressing food addiction, sex and love addiction, and financial issues while a patient is in substance use treatment as well as after completing substance use treatment
  3. Engage with panelists in an open dialogue about comorbidities and compare solutions, techniques, and timelines with other professionals
