Dear Innovators and Agents of Change,

As we move into a new decade, we are left dealing with behavioral healthcare issues carried over from the last. We are searching for a middle ground between giving clients the individualized care they so desperately need, and at the same time, standardizing our practices to ensure compliance, maintain ethical standards and be financially viable.

The need for mental health parity has become apparent over the last decade, but we still have considerable ground to cover before we realize that goal. As a group, we all share in the tenuous relationship between provider, payer and the personal recovery movement. And with that shared relationship, comes a shared stewardship. Finally, as we go through this changing of the guard in the behavioral healthcare workforce, the need for education grows so that we may not repeat the mistakes of the past again.

I would like to personally invite you to be a part of Foundations Events in 2020 and join the exciting movement that is behavioral healthcare. Come explore and share new ways to provide care at Innovations in Recovery in San Diego next spring, while taking part in the broader conversation around ethics and business practices.

I also invite you to witness and participate in the growth of our industry at Moments of Change in Palm Beach this fall, where we will tackle the tough issues facing our community and move toward a solution-based collaborative. Come innovate and change with us as we charge into the next decade!
