This interactive workshop will address the unique clinical needs of transgender and gender expansive (TGE) young adults struggling with substance use and eating disorder behaviors. We will explore the role of gender dysphoria and trauma from gender minority stressors in the development of addiction and eating disorder, provide case vignettes to ground the discussion, and share our gender affirmative model for helping TGE clients enter recovery.
